Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Festival Curator · Event Tourism Strategist · LIVE Experiences Consultant · AI Platform Architect
“Festivals as Platforms. Culture as Currency. Audiences as Communities.”
In 1997, in the small town of Jhansi in Central India, a young school student chairing "Computer Club" in his school built an online cinema ticket booking platform — among the early dot-com ventures in the country, during the earliest years of the internet in India. The platform that in next 3 years matured to, bundelkhand.net — named after the region he called home — caught the attention of Hon'ble Rajnath Singh Ji, then Chief Minister of the state and today India's Defence Minister, who recognized the venture and offered a complimentary booth at the prestigious India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, where he personally inaugurated its extended services to promote Tourism in Bundelkhand Region Online.
That journey from a small-town experiment to the national capital set the course for everything that followed — a career built at the intersection of technology, brands, and live experiences. Nearly three decades later, that same instinct to build platforms — now augmented by 25 years of domain mastery and the transformative power of AI — is what drives Eventzr.
Gaurav's career is best understood not as a series of pivots, but as a deliberate accumulation of capabilities across three domains that rarely coexist in one professional:
After completing formal studies in Events Management at both postgraduate and master's levels — a Post Graduate Diploma from New Delhi and studying for an MSc in Events Management at Leeds Beckett University in the UK — Gaurav dedicated over two decades to conceptualizing, curating, and delivering large-format live experiences.
While studying for his MSc, he was selected by the European Union as the first Non-European representative for the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Future Leaders Program — attending the MPI World Education Congress in Monaco and IMEX in Frankfurt, Germany. This global exposure proved transformative. He returned to India and self-funded the country's first B2B events industry convention — Eventful India Events Show (2007, New Delhi) — a kaleidoscope of myriad colors and experiences, bringing together 14 of the world's leading event professionals from seven countries, including practitioners behind the Oscars and the Olympics, to inspire India's events community. The convention catalyzed the establishment of over 20 trade associations for the events industry across India — laying the institutional foundation for an industry that was just beginning to blossom.
Over 25 years, he has curated 100+ marquee events — government mega-festivals, cultural celebrations, televised events, brand activations, and international expositions. He created multiple Event IPs and specialized in large-ticket sponsorships and broadcaster deals in excess of USD 5 Million — curating content-to-live-experience formats behind some of India's largest events. His work spans the full spectrum — from a Tsunami Fundraiser in the United Kingdom and a Silent Art Auction for Underprivileged Kids in New Delhi, to leading bids and creative direction for India's marquee event agencies for landmark projects, starting with an IPL Closing Ceremony in 2009 staged at Johannesburg, South Africa, to a successful bid for India's Pavilion at a World Expo in Osaka, Japan.
He also created an "Event Tourism" format for inbound event-based tourism in Turkey — selling the concept to local government and hospitality industry stakeholders in Antalya as part of an Indo-Turkish client collaboration — bringing the domains of Events and Tourism together as a strategic discipline. Event Tourism remains a central passion: Gaurav continues to advocate for experience-led tourism strategies that attract visitors, celebrate local culture, and generate lasting economic impact for destinations worldwide.
His covid-era agricultural event formats and experiential ideas have received recognition from the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
Beginning with a Certificate in Media Planning and Advertising from MICA and early career work in advertising and Fashion & Lifestyle Public Relations in New Delhi, Gaurav built over 100+ brands from ideation to market through his own consulting ventures. The work spanned industries: fashion and lifestyle, retail and apparel, education, consumer goods, real estate, and automotive. He helped media houses create event and awards formats that became their primary revenue streams. He introduced merchandising strategies for sports brands that continue to generate meaningful returns.
In 2009, he launched Smirnoff's global campaign "Life is Calling, Be There" across India — an integrated digital-experiential initiative executed via Orkut (in the pre-Facebook era), featuring three popular Electronica artists as Digital Brand Ambassadors, 27 directed and produced short videos, gamified rewards driving traffic to Smirnoff's official website, and a collaboration with leading PR agency Perfect Relations. The campaign brought together video content, digital marketing, brand management, live events, and artist management — delivering 280% over the response target.
As Chief Marketing Officer for a real estate group, he managed an annual marketing budget of INR 100 Crore and delivered 10x results that significantly exceeded targets and expectations. This depth of brand-building and commercial strategy across industries informs every aspect of how Eventzr approaches the market — understanding not just how events are produced, but how brands connect with audiences through live experiences.
Technology never left the picture. A computer science graduate (BCA + GNIIT), Gaurav was among the very few early Event-Tech entrepreneurs from India to exhibit at the world's biggest Event Technology shows in London and Las Vegas — bridging India's events industry with the global event-tech ecosystem.
In 2016, he co-founded Sutra Networks — an enterprise social networking SaaS platform that was selected for Google for Startups' Top 50 global cohort before a successful exit in Silicon Valley. The instinct to build platforms — first glimpsed in 1997 with bundelkhand.net — remained a constant thread through every chapter.
Today, Gaurav is the solo architect of Eventzr — an enterprise-grade, AI-native, multi-tenant, multi-lingual, white-label SaaS platform comprising 62 backend microservices, 175+ reusable packages, and 9 frontend applications, built on 100% serverless AWS infrastructure with embedded AI across every workflow. He frames this as AiaS — a paradigm where artificial intelligence is not just the product's capability, but the method that made building it possible.
Everything in Gaurav's career — the festivals, the brands, the technology ventures, the government collaborations, the mentoring — led to Eventzr.
Eventzr is what becomes possible when deep domain expertise meets the ability to build. The platform connects and streamlines the work of everyone involved in bringing live experiences to life — organizers, venues, artists and talent teams, brands, agencies, tourism boards, and broadcasters. Intelligence is woven into every workflow, from planning and marketing to operations and reporting — not as an afterthought, but as the foundation.
Eventzr will also serve as a global learning platform — offering structured courseware and certification in events management, making formal events education accessible to millions worldwide. Gaurav is a firm believer that formal events education transforms practitioners — having studied Events Management at both postgraduate and master's levels in India and the UK, he has seen firsthand what structured knowledge does for the craft. His vision extends beyond the profession: learning how to plan and organize experiences is equally valuable for a student planning a birthday, a homemaker curating a family wedding, a professional organizing a conference, or a government official commissioning a national festival.
The vision is borderless: anyone, from anywhere in the world, should be able to discover opportunities and create experiences for any client, in any part of the world. Technology defies geographic boundaries — and the experience economy should too.
